Ottawa : A three-member delegation from the Department of Plant Protection (DPP/NPPO), Ministry of National Food Security and Research, called on Pakistan’s High Commissioner Muhammad Saleem. It was led by Dr. Uzma Sitara, Principal Scientific Officer, with Senior Scientific Officer Muhammad Hassan Chachar and Entomologist Quarantine/Pakistan Single Window Tayyab Walayat.
The delegation is in Ottawa to attend a seminar run by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency from October 26 to 30. The seminar covers the agency’s regulatory framework for food safety, health, and plant and animal health.
The High Commissioner welcomed the growing Pakistan-Canada collaboration in agri-food trade and capacity-building initiatives in related regulatory frameworks, which he said would support deeper engagement in sectors of mutual interest.
