Zong’s Digital Scholars Program Empowers Young Women for Pakistan’s AI-Ready Future

News Desk

ISLAMABAD : On the International Day of the Girl Child, Zong, in partnership with Knowledge Platform, launched the next phase of the Zong Digital Scholars Program. The initiative aims to promote digital inclusion, build future-ready skills and increase young women’s participation in Pakistan’s technology-driven economy.

So far, the program has reached more than 50,000 students, including over 5,000 young women, across 300-plus schools in 35 cities. The new phase shifts the focus from broad digital education outreach to preparing young people for an AI-driven world.

Over the next year, the program aims to reach 10,000 college and university students through self-paced, game-based learning in artificial intelligence, analytical thinking and problem-solving. About 6,000 participants, or 60 percent, are to be young women. While the program is nationwide, it will give particular attention to underserved communities along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Zong Director Strategy and spokesperson Nabila Yazdani said the company is investing in future-ready skills, digital inclusion and women’s participation in the technology ecosystem, with technology as an enabler of opportunity and lasting social impact.

Knowledge Platform COO Umair Ali said the partnership will expand access to digital learning for the communities that need it most, with 60 percent of the 10,000 students to be young women.
