Rawalpindi:Raja Muhammad Latif Hasrat, Additional Secretary General of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, has assumed charge as the Acting Secretary General of the party under Sub-Clause (1) of Clause (S) of Article 18 of the party’s Constitution.
He will discharge the responsibilities of the office until the return of Secretary General Ms. Mehr-un-Nisa from abroad or the election of new office-bearers. Ms. Mehr-un-Nisa is currently visiting the United Kingdom on a private trip.
According to the party’s Constitution, the Additional Secretary General performs the duties of the Acting Secretary General in the latter’s absence.
Raja Muhammad Latif Hasrat previously served as the Muslim Conference’s Secretary Information from 1985 to 1988. Following his entry into the civil service in 1988, he held various positions at different locations in the Information Department. After retiring from government service in 2009, he rejoined the Muslim Conference and took charge of the party’s Media Cell.
He subsequently served as Chairman of the Muslim Conference Publicity Board from 2012 to 2016 and as Chairman of the Central Media Cell from 2016 to 2022.
Following the party elections in 2022, Raja Muhammad Latif Hasrat was nominated as Additional Secretary General, a position he continues to hold.
He is regarded as one of the longstanding and devoted associates of Mujahid-e-Awwal Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan. His consistent appointment to various key positions within the party reflects his longstanding association, experience and contributions to the Muslim Conference.
