Islamabad : National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during his State Visit to Pakistan. The meeting focused on bilateral relations, particularly strengthening cooperation and people-to-people contacts.
The Speaker said Pakistan attaches great importance to its longstanding, brotherly relations with the Maldives, and called for more cooperation in trade, education, health, tourism, and capacity building. He stressed that high-level exchanges and continued engagement between leaders and institutions would open new avenues of cooperation. He also highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy and expressed confidence that closer interaction between the two parliaments would deepen ties.
President Muizzu appreciated the enduring friendship and expressed his desire to expand bilateral cooperation in diverse fields for the mutual benefit of both peoples.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to sustained engagement and closer people-to-people contacts. MNAs Dr. Shazia Sobia, Ms. Shaista Khan, and Mr. Sanjay Perwani also attended the meeting.
