ISLAMABAD: Fatima Fertilizer has become the first company to partner with the Punjab government’s Environment Protection and Climate Change Department (EP&CCD) under a Joint Collaborative Framework aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and climate action.
The partnership will encourage cooperation among industry, academia, youth, civil society and other stakeholders to address environmental challenges across Punjab. Key areas include air quality improvement, smog mitigation, water conservation, waste management, biodiversity protection and green innovation.
Fatima Fertilizer Director Marketing and Sales Rabel Sadozai said collective commitment and strong partnerships were essential for raising environmental awareness, promoting responsible practices and building a sustainable future.
EP&CCD Secretary Silwat Saeed welcomed the initiative, describing Fatima Fertilizer as the first company to join hands with the department in this collaborative effort. She stressed the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing climate change and strengthening environmental resilience.
The framework aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly climate action, responsible consumption and production, and partnerships for sustainable development. Both organisations aim to encourage collective responsibility and build a more environmentally conscious society in Punjab.
