Islamabad : The Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) and the Arab Thought Forum (ATF), Jordan, held a bilateral meeting on 20 October 2026 to explore stronger institutional cooperation, policy dialogue and joint research. The meeting was organised by ISSI’s Centre for Afghanistan, Middle East and Africa (CAMEA) and builds on an MoU the two bodies signed in October 2025.
ISSI Director General Ambassador Moin ul Haque said Jordan holds a special place in Pakistan’s heart, and stressed closer collaboration on regional issues, especially developments in the Middle East.
ATF Secretary General Dr. Amani Ghazi Jarrar welcomed Pakistan’s regional role and called for a Pakistan–Arab strategic dialogue. She outlined four pillars of cooperation: human dignity and shared security, intellectual and institutional engagement, strategic foresight and forecasting, and turning shared goals into practical outcomes through joint research and policy initiatives.
The discussion also covered the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, framed as questions of people’s rights rather than merely territorial disputes. CAMEA Director Dr. Amina Khan and colleagues also attended.
