Sindh Auqaf Minister Reviews Development Work at Masooma-e-Sindh Shrine, Orders Expanded Construction and Better Pilgrim Facilities

Agham Kot/Hyderabad: Sindh Minister for Auqaf, Religious Affairs, Zakat and Ushr Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Sheerazi reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to providing essential facilities to pilgrims visiting the shrine of Masooma-e-Sindh, Hazrat Syeda Khadija Bibi Maham (SA), at Agham Kot.

At a reception hosted by Brigadier (R) Syed Karrar Hussain Abidi of the Zaireen Khidmat Committee, he said he would seek the Chief Minister’s cooperation and that of MPAs from Badin, Tando Allahyar and Tando Muhammad Khan to provide cleanliness, safe drinking water, toilets, ablution facilities and better access roads. Karachi Editors Club President Mubasher Mir raised pilgrims’ difficulties and the state of construction, and the minister issued instructions for their prompt resolution. He received a Sipasnama and an honorary shield.

After laying a ceremonial chadar at the shrine, he inspected the ongoing construction and expressed displeasure that the contractor had excluded a 20-by-20-foot portion of land from the approved area. He ordered the approval process started for that portion and the development budget revised accordingly. He also directed construction of a grand entrance gate, quality tiles in the courtyard and passageways, and strict adherence to quality standards.

The planned relocation of the historic tombstone inscription, dated 170 AH, from the underground chamber to the public visitation area was postponed due to time constraints and logistical difficulties. The minister said it would be moved at the earliest opportunity.

He also planted a sapling to launch a tree plantation campaign at the shrine.
