Rawalpindi: Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah, Patron-in-Chief of Idara Taleemat-e-Islamia Pakistan, said the National Assembly’s unanimous resolutions on Kashmir Black Day reflect Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
He said that during a session chaired by Deputy Speaker Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam presented a resolution condemning India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. It reaffirmed support for self-determination, urged the United Nations to implement its resolutions on the dispute, and called on Pakistan to keep providing diplomatic and moral backing to Kashmiris.
A separate solidarity resolution, moved by Rana Qasim Noon, Chairman of the Parliamentary Kashmir Committee, was also approved, which he said further underlined solidarity with the Kashmiri struggle for freedom.
Shah described the Kashmiris’ struggle as commendable and said Pakistan would continue its full support. He urged the international community and the United Nations to take notice of human rights violations in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir and to play an effective role in ensuring Kashmiris receive their fundamental right to self-determination.
