Sardar Attique : Kashmiris’ Sacrifices for Freedom Unparalleled in World history

PN Report

Rawalpindi : President of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference and former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, has said that the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri nation for its freedom are unparalleled in world history. He stated that the Kashmir freedom movement is not merely an issue concerning a particular region but a question of conscience for the entire Muslim Ummah.

He said that despite what he described as Indian state terrorism, the courageous people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir continue to stand firm in their demand for the right to self-determination.

He expressed these views while talking to various delegations that called on him at Mujahid Manzil in Rawalpindi. He said the struggle for Kashmir’s freedom had become a test of the international community’s conscience. The world must recognise that the Kashmir dispute is not merely a territorial issue but concerns the future of 15 million people.

Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan said that Azad Jammu and Kashmir was established not simply as an administrative territory but as a base camp for the Kashmir freedom movement. He emphasised that the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir must remain at the centre of every policy, action and effort.

He said the Muslim Conference was committed to safeguarding the unity, identity and ideological foundations of the state, adding that sustaining the Kashmir freedom movement remained its foremost responsibility.

He alleged that India had deprived the Kashmiri people of their fundamental rights and turned the territory into an open prison. He further claimed that India’s policies had made Kashmir one of the world’s most serious humanitarian tragedies.

The former Prime Minister described the international community’s silence as criminal indifference, warning that the failure to grant the Kashmiri people their legitimate rights could push the region towards a serious military confrontation. He maintained that the powers that had signed United Nations resolutions on Kashmir could not evade their responsibilities.

Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan also observed that Kashmiri youth were bringing honour to their country and nation through their achievements across the world. He stressed that expanding opportunities in education, employment, technology and economic self-reliance in Azad Kashmir should be an integral part of state policy.

He expressed confidence that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people would never go in vain. Reaffirming his commitment to the freedom movement, he said that no matter how hard India tried, it would neither be able to halt nor suppress the movement. He expressed the conviction that freedom was the destiny of the Kashmiri people and that the day would come when Pakistan’s flag would fly in Srinagar.

During the meeting at Mujahid Manzil, former Director General of Local Government Sardar Munir Abbasi, Professor Abdul Rauf Abbasi, Sardar Arshad Abbasi and others called on Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan. They discussed the Foundation Day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and other matters of mutual interest.
