Islamabad: The inaugural YouTube Festival Pakistan was held in Karachi on 19 October and Lahore on 22 October, bringing together brands, businesses and creators.
The festival opened with Coke Studio’s “Pasoori”, one of the first Pakistani videos to cross one billion views, with 90% of views from 60+ countries, highlighting YouTube’s global cultural impact.
Google said Pakistan is one of its fastest-growing ecosystems. 60 million Pakistanis watch YouTube, with channels uploading 20 million hours in the past year, or 38 minutes per second.
“Pakistan is undergoing an unprecedented digital inflection point, and YouTube sits at the heart of this transformation,” said Farhan Qureshi, Google’s Cluster Director for Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand & Frontier Markets.
Brands shared results: Unilever’s Sunsilk drove leadership via drama content, Nestle Everyday saw 9.4% value growth in Ramadan, and easypaisa reported 30% lift in installs, or 1.3M incremental installs, via Demand Gen.
The event also highlighted creator partnerships with WildLens by Abrar and Minahil Temur, and Google’s recent opening of its first office in Pakistan.
