Rawalpindi:Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (Retd.) Nadeem Nasir inaugurated a Business Facilitation Desk at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) to address the business community’s concerns and ease operations. RCCI President Nosherwan Khalil Khan and other office-bearers welcomed him.
Nasir called businesses the backbone of the economy and said a representative from his office would be stationed at the desk to resolve complaints promptly. He assured that genuine issues would be handled on priority and that traders could phone him directly in urgent cases. He added that the Punjab government wants to promote industry in Rawalpindi, with an industrial zone along the Ring Road among its priorities.
Khan welcomed the proposed three-day resolution of NOC matters and the decision that no business will be sealed without proper authorization. He also asked for longer business hours under the smart lockdown policy and uniform timings across Punjab.
Patron-in-Chief Sohail Altaf urged other departments to set up help desks at the Chamber, called for rationalizing excessively high DC rates, and pressed for faster progress on Ring Road economic zones and the Rawat Industrial Estate link road.
