Prime Minister’s advice sent to the President after cabinet review of the province’s law and order and terrorism situation

ISLAMABAD (October 11, 2026): The Federal Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, was briefed on the law and order situation and the worsening state of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Cabinet reviewed the situation in detail, taking into account the deteriorating law and order conditions in the province and what it described as the provincial government’s deliberate disengagement from the fight against terrorism.
Given the gravity of the situation, the Cabinet proposed that the Prime Minister advise the President to exercise his constitutional authority and impose an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
The advice has been forwarded from the Prime Minister’s House to the Presidency.
