Adviser to the PM on Tourism Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan has announced that the 2nd Pakistan Tourism, Sports & Family Festival 2026 will take place from November 6 to 8 at Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. The announcement followed an MoU between the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) to jointly promote the event.
The three-day festival will offer paragliding, rock climbing, tent pegging, a vintage car show, hot air balloons, cultural performances, traditional crafts, food stalls, and family entertainment. Khan expressed hope that around 150,000 visitors will attend, helping project Islamabad and Pakistan as attractive destinations for tourism, culture, sports, and investment. He stressed greater international visibility and engaging diplomatic missions to invite foreign content creators.
ICCI President Mohammad Zikria Akbar Zia highlighted Pakistan’s tourism potential, especially in northern areas like Swat, Chitral, Gilgit, and Skardu, calling for better air connectivity, infrastructure, and public-private partnerships. Other ICCI leaders emphasized tourism’s role in generating jobs, investment, and economic growth through stronger business community involvement.
