Islamabad : Federal Minister for Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh delivered the keynote at CEO Summit Islamabad 2026, organized by CEO Club Pakistan, on the theme “Growth in Testing Times: Reshaping the Future.”
He said Pakistan’s economic challenges also offer a chance to improve the business environment and pursue a long-term, investment-oriented approach. Investment, he stated, is essential for jobs, technology, productivity, industrial capacity, and exports. Citing China’s three decades of double-digit growth, he said Pakistan can learn from its model.
He identified IT, agriculture and agro-processing, mining and minerals, energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, and tourism as key investment sectors. The Board of Investment, he said, is committed to removing hurdles and improving coordination among government departments, while investors need consistent policies, clear regulations, and timely decisions.
He stressed that the private sector is a central partner in growth and that regular engagement between policymakers and business leaders is vital. He also highlighted overseas Pakistanis’ potential contribution through investment, partnerships, and technology transfer, and expressed confidence that stronger public-private cooperation will build a more resilient, competitive economy.
