Islamabad: Pakistan Single Window (PSW) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company (PHDEC) to help horticulture exporters and processors participate more effectively in Pakistan’s digital trade ecosystem.
PHDEC, a government-owned entity under the Ministry of Commerce, will work with PSW to run training sessions, webinars and workshops covering PSW registration, system usage, documentation and regulatory requirements. A key goal is for exporters to manage their PSW registrations and trade processes independently, with greater oversight of their submissions. Data protection and privacy awareness will be part of the effort.
PSW CEO Syed Aftab Haider said digital infrastructure only delivers impact when businesses can use it effectively, and the partnership aims to make digitalization a practical enabler of export competitiveness. PHDEC CEO Muhammad Naseer said combining sector expertise with digital trade knowledge will help exporters handle operational challenges with more confidence.
Beyond capacity building, the partnership will identify sector-specific barriers to digital adoption, provide guidance on PSW-related operational issues, and explore information sharing under PSW’s Trade Data Sharing & Exchange Policy. Joint working groups with equal representation from both institutions will coordinate implementation, monitor progress and assess outcomes.
