HYDERABAD : Engr. Junaid Ahmed Wassan, Assistant Director and In-charge of the SDC Liaison Offices in Hyderabad and Sukkur, has stressed that quality standards are essential for consumer protection, industrial development, business confidence and economic progress.
In his message on World Standards Day 2026, he said compliance with quality standards improves product safety, strengthens consumer trust and enhances industrial competitiveness. He emphasized that quality should be integrated into industry, trade, technology and everyday life rather than being limited to product inspection.
Wassan urged consumers to check product labels, manufacturing and expiry dates, manufacturer details, packaging and relevant certification information before purchasing goods.
He said businesses should consider quality a long-term investment in product reliability, customer satisfaction and corporate credibility rather than merely a regulatory requirement.
He highlighted the need for cooperation among government institutions, manufacturers, traders and consumers to promote awareness and discourage substandard products.
Wassan called for renewed commitment to quality, transparency and accountability, saying stronger standards and collective efforts could support sustainable economic growth and build a more confident society.
